South Jersey Native Johnny Gaudreau, Who Is From South Jersey, Put The Pittsburgh Penguins In His Back Pocket

That feeling when your very good hockey boy does very good hockey things >>>>>

I guess you could say it’s been a bit of an up and down season for Johnny Gaudreau this year. He’s dealt with some injuries, he was demoted to the 4th line for a hot minute, but he’s still managed to put up 49 points so far this year with 15 and 34. So even when the kid isn’t playing his best hockey, he’s still damn near impossible to keep off the scoresheet. The kid’s story will never not be great. 4th round draft pick. Took a trip to Dubuque to play in the USHL. Spent 3 seasons at BC. Finally made the jump to the NHL and now the kid is a fuckin’ all-star making $6.75 million a year. Just a kid from the Hollydell Ice Arena and now he’s ruining the Penguins’ lives while forcing Ron Hainsey into early retirement.

That goal helped Calgary eventually win the game last night in the shootout which was the Flames’ 10th straight win. They’re now the 4th team this season to go on a win streak of at least 10 games (Flyers, Blue Jackets, Wild, Flames). Pretty positive that’s a record for a single NHL season. And when you take a look at the current NHL standings, the Blue Jackets are in a playoff position sitting 3rd in the Metro division. The Flames are in a playoff position sitting 2nd in the Pacific division. The Wild are in a playoff position sitting 1st in the Central division. And the Flyers… well… the Philadelphia Flyers lost to Columbus last night and are currently 6 points out of that final Wild Card spot in the East. Sooooooo yeah. I guess that just means that Flyers fans are gonna have to be huge Gaudreau/Flames fans once their season mercifully ends on April 9.
